“ড্রাইভার” শুধুমাত্র একটি শব্দ বা পেশার নাম নয়, ইহা হলো আমাদের সু-নিয়ন্ত্রিত সমাজ পরিকাঠামোর ধারক ও বাহক। একজন ড্রাইভার সাহেব হলেন দেশের অঘোষিত দ্বিতীয় সৈনিক।অ্যাম্বুলেন্স ড্রাইভার থেকে শুরু করে অটো,বাস,ট্রাক,এবং সমস্ত পন্যবাহী গাড়ি ড্রাইভার প্রত্যেককে অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম ও দায়িত্বশীলতার সহিত কর্মের দ্বারা সমাজের পরিষেবা ও অর্থনীতি সচল রাখতে বিশাল অবদান রাখেন। মূলত ড্রাইভার সাহেবরা হলেন আমাদের অর্থ সামাজিক ব্যবস্থার একটি অন্যতম চালাকি শক্তি।কিন্তু অত্যন্ত দুঃখের বিষয় যে সমাজে এত বড় অবদান থাকার সত্বেও বেশিরভাগ ড্রাইভার সাহেবরা তাদের ন্যায্য প্রাপ্যটুকু থেকেও বঞ্চিত হন ।
(i) তাঁদের আর্থিক স্বল্পতার জন্য সন্তানদেরকে ভালো স্কুলে পড়াতে পারে না।
(ii)কোনরকম দুর্ঘটনা ঘটলে তাঁরা তাঁদের পরিবারকে উপযুক্ত চিকিৎসা পরিষেবা দিতে পারেনা।তাছাড়া ও দুর্ঘটনায় কোন ড্রাইভার সাহেব মারা গেলে বা কর্ম ক্ষমতা হারালে তার পরিবার সম্পূর্ণ রূপে অসহায় হয়ে পরে।
(iii)সব চালান ও সমস্ত কাগজপত্র ঠিক থাকা সত্বেও অনেক সময় অকারনে পুলিশ ড্রাইভার সাহেব দের কে হয়রানি ও গালাগালি করে এবং কখনো কখনো অকারণ মাধ ধড় ও করে । খুঁজলে তাদের প্রতি আরও এ রকম বহু অন্যায্য প্রাপ্তির সন্ধান পাওয়া যাবে। তাঁদের কে সঠিক প্রাপ্যটুকু পাইয়ে দেওয়ার এবং তাঁরা যাতে যানজট ও অন্যান্য প্রতিকূল পরিস্থিতি তে চিন্তা মুক্ত হয়ে নির্ভয়ে গাড়ি চালিয়ে সমাজকে পরিষেবা দিতে পারেন তার জন্যই আমাদের এই অল ড্রাইভার রাইট’স মহাসংঘ নামক মহাসংঘের আগমন ।
